In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the case of a young mother gunned down after being lured to a meeting at a jewellery store. The detectives soon realize the killer intentionally left her brain-dead. At first, Goren and Eames suspect she was killed so that her organs could be harvested. Then they discover that the victim had herself been the recipient of an organ, from a seemingly altruistic donor. Then, the detectives believe this man took a controlling interest in those whose lives he changed.
